FAQ:

HOW MUCH WILL TRAINING COST?

Our training sessions are all private, and conducted in your home. Our sessions generally run about an hour and a half, give or take 30 minutes or so. Our prices are typically around $100/hour for our private sessions. We can usually accomplish what a 6-week group class can accomplish in just one private session.

New dog/puppy training is usually accomplished in one session, and generally costs around $200.

Manners/obedience refreshers such as proper greetings with guests or other basic household training sessions are usually accomplished in one to two 60-90 minute sessions, and generally costs around $200 total.

Leash pulling/reactivity training is usually accomplished in two to three sessions, and generally costs around $250 total.

We'd be happy to quote you for any specific training- just ask!

DO WE OFFER ANY BOARD AND TRAIN PROGRAMS?

Sit Stay Train & Play LLC doe not currently offer any training outside of the client's home without the client present during the training session. The exception to this rule would be training for social interactions when we utilize groups of dogs for our training sessions. Owners may or may not be present during these types of sessions, but they generally last less than 3 hours. Our training sessions are all conducted inside the client's home, with as many family members as possible present during the session.

HOW LONG DOES TRAINING TAKE?

Our basic training sessions that focus on topics such as new dog intros, leash manners, social skills with guests or dogs, or off-leash recall are usually completed within one to two 60-120 minute private training sessions, depending on the severity of the behavior and the dog's receptiveness towards the training. Factors such as the dog's confidence level as well as level of motivation during the visits may lengthen or shorten the time we spend in your home. Our focus is to demonstrate to you how to continue the training once we leave. The progress you see will be heavily dependent on how often you apply these training techniques to your daily life, and how much practice you are able to put in with your dog when teaching, redirecting, or eliminating a behavior.

WHAT WILL MY NEW DOG/PUPPY LEARN?

The question should be "what will I learn about my new dog/puppy?" When you choose Sit Stay to handle your new dog or puppy introductions, you will be setting both your dog and your family up for success! Let Sit Stay guide you through introducing your dog to new behaviors, setting boundaries and expectations, proper nutrition, enrichment and exercise needs, teaching basic obedience, housebreaking, and more! These can all be accomplished in one session with most young puppies, and many adult dogs. Sessions like this typically cost $150-$200, depending on the duration and amount of sessions, as well as what we cover during the sessions.

HOW LONG DOES HOUSEBREAKING TAKE?

Ah, the age-old question - "how do I get my dog to stop peeing in the house?" This type of training can be accomplished in as little as a few days, or it can take weeks or longer. The greatest factors in this equation are the time you are able to spend monitoring your puppy while they are outside of their crate, as well as the time you are able to spend outside encouraging and praising your puppy for eliminating outdoors. What we can guarantee is that if you follow our step-by-step guidelines after our training session, you will eliminate 99% of your dogs indoor accidents until they learn to hold it and ask to be let outside to eliminate. We can guide you through the housebreaking process, and leave you with the proper materials and knowledge  to housebreak your puppy or new dog in 1-2 sessions. This type of training usually costs around $100-150.
